Gere Merlot Dry red wine 13,5%
Gere Merlot is a Villány classicus red wine of protected origin. This fine quality wine of medium body is fruity and spicy at the same time. Its main characteristics are also the ripe flavour, velvety tannins and playful acidity. A glass of Merlot is an ideal combination with wild meats like venison or wild boar. But Merlot pairs well with red fruit-based accompaniments or roast squash, beets and fried or grilled mushrooms. In conclusion, Merlot is the ideal choice for an elegant, gourmet dinner.
What makes Gere Merlot – Dry red wine so special?
Its uniqueness lies in the fermentation process exclusively done by locally selected indigenous yeast strains. The perfectly ripe, hand-selected grapes from organic vineyards are taken to a cellar, equipped with state of the art technology. Fermentation takes place either in temperature-controlled steel tanks or wooden vats. Following the gentle extraction, the winemakers rack the wines into traditional, top quality Hungarian oak barrels, and after bottling, their ageing continues in bottles.
Winemaking process
After the alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the ageing continues in large casks for 8-10 months.
