Gere & Weninger Rose – Dry rose 10% 750ml
Villány is one of the famous Hungarian wine regions, where winemaking has hundreds of years old traditions. However, Villány has an innovative role in the present-day winery, as well. Gere & Weninger Rose is a Villány classicus rosé wine of protected origin and an exicited variety of blauburger, kékfrankos, pinot noir and portugieser.
The full tastes and the aroma of crispy fruits, plums, black cherries and strawberries enchant wine lovers. The unique sub-Mediterranean climate of Villány gives the exclusive aromas that characterise the local wines. That is why the Rose wine could preserve and express the typical flavours and aromas of the Villány terroir.
What makes Gere & Weninger Rose so special?
Its uniqueness lies in the fermentation process exclusively done by locally selected indigenous yeast strains. The perfectly ripe, hand-selected grapes from organic vineyards are taken to a cellar, equipped with state of the art technology. Fermentation takes place either in temperature-controlled steel tanks or wooden vats. Following the gentle extraction, the winemakers rack the wines into traditional, top quality Hungarian oak barrels, and after bottling, their ageing continues in bottles.
A rose is a type of wine that incorporates some of the colours from the grape skin but is not enough to qualify it as red wine. It may be the oldest known type of wine, as it is the most straightforward to make with the skin contact method.
