Many people always wonder whether it is possible to make a natural strawberry jam with pectin. The answer is yes, but unfortunately, it might not be as easy as you think. The beauty behind the strawberry-apple jam is that there is no sugar added as it is sweetened naturally by its fruit juice.
If your main aim is to limit your sugar intake, this fruit preserve will perfectly work for you. All you have to do is cut the strawberries into small pieces then core, peel and grate all the apples. Place them in a pan and let them simmer until softened.
Unlike the store bought jam, the naturally made strawberry-apple jam contains less preservatives and dyes all aimed at helping you maintain a healthier diet. You can always opt for the homemade jam with reduced sugar levels but still containing pectin, which is naturally extracted from the apple. Other people may prefer adding lemons to sauce the pectin but this rarely works for them because the lemons flavour tends to overpower the strawberry’s flavour. All you will get is a somewhat sour taste which is definitely not as palatable as you expected.

Unique Cheese Balls with Strawberry Jam
Ingredients (serves 12)
- 450 g cheddar cheese (grated)
- 230 ml mayonnaise
- 230 ml pecans (chopped)
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 230 ml Szafi Refrom strawberry jam
- Mix cheese, mayo, pecans and onion to get a homogeneous mixture.
- Form balls and fill their center with strawberry jam
- Serve with salty crackers.
Since our low carb apple strawberry jam is not made with crystallized sugar or date syrup (for low nutritional value) their level of sweetness is lower. If you want more sweetness in your dessert, we recommend adding erythritol or syrup.
