Magna Cum Laude Palinka is a youthful and innovative Hungarian brand in the palinka and liqueur market. Despite being founded only in 2010, Magna Palinka is an award winner spirit producer. Magna’s unique selection has been awarded not only in Hungary but in Canada, China or Netherlands.

The brand tries to develop new flavourings and aromas while respecting the archaic traditions of Hungarian palinka making. By now more than 100 different palinka is available.

Making Process of the Famous Palinka!

Hungarian palinka is exclusively made from 100% fruit of the best quality and not from grains like whiskey or vodka. The mash (cefre is the Hungarian word for it) is the fruit base that contains only perfect riped fruits. So the mash rests in a barrel until it “matures”.

The next step is distillation which is a very special step in the process. Basically, after fermentation of the fruit mash, they boil it to extract the flavors and alcohol (ethyl alcohol) from it. Palinka is ageing for a while in barrels (approximately 40-60 days) similar to wine. The palinka has to rest, and as a result, it becomes balanced and really enjoyable. Palinka is not a light spirit but a strong and intensive drink.
